Ugandan singer King Saha rushed to Mulago Hospital shortly after his release from Jinja Road Police Station to check on members of his team who were injured during the security operation that preceded his arrest.
Saha reportedly said he could not go home immediately after his release without first checking on the condition of his team members.
Videos from Mulago showed several members of his team receiving treatment with one appearing to have suffered a serious leg injury.
“It is very sad. I will speak about the rest later,” Saha said in a brief update.
The singer had been detained for several hours after armed security personnel reportedly picked him up from his home in Kyanja. The circumstances surrounding his arrest remain unclear with security agencies yet to publicly explain why he was detained.
