Eddy Kenzo has praised the Triplets Ghetto Kids after the dance group represented Uganda on one of the world’s biggest stages, performing during the FIFA World Cup final celebrations alongside international stars Shakira and Burna Boy.
The Grammy-nominated artist took to X to celebrate the dancers, describing their appearance at the global football event as a proud moment for Uganda and a sign of the growing influence of the country’s creative industry.
“There are moments that are evident enough to us that the world is watching Uganda,” Kenzo wrote. “Today, our very own @ghettokidstfug have again carried the Ugandan flag onto one of the biggest stages on earth, performing alongside @shakira & @burnaboy at the @FIFAWorldCup Final.”
He added that the group’s achievement went beyond entertainment, saying their journey showed how talent, discipline and determination can take young Ugandans from humble beginnings to international recognition.
“This is bigger than dance. It is bigger than entertainment. It is yet another proof that a dream born in the streets of Kampala can inspire billions across the globe,” Kenzo said.
Kenzo encouraged young Ugandans to believe in their dreams, noting that the Ghetto Kids’ success is an example of the opportunities available through creativity and hard work.
“Congratulations to the Ghetto Kids for making our nation proud and showing the world the beauty, energy, and limitless potential of Uganda,” he said.
The singer played a key role in the group’s rise to fame after featuring the Triplets Ghetto Kids in his 2014 hit song “Sitya Loss”, whose viral music video introduced the young dancers to a global audience and opened doors for international opportunities.
