The Spirit of Uganda has announced its support for “2 Kings One Mic,” a landmark comedy event featuring Patrick “Salvado” Idringi and Dr. Hillary Okello with the show set to take place on Friday, 23rd October at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
This show brings together two of the country’s most acclaimed stand-up comedians for a head-to-head performance born out of widespread public debate and audience comparisons of their distinct comedic styles.
Speaking at the announcement, Roy Tumwizere, Senior Brand Manager for Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries Limited, highlighted the significance of the partnership saying, “Uganda Waragi is built on celebrating what makes us uniquely Ugandan like our warmth and our unmatched sense of humor. We are proud to support Salvado and Dr. Hillary Okello together on one stage in a celebration of the Spirit of Laughter that defines us.”
Uganda Waragi’s history with comedy is deeply rooted. The brand has been a long-standing partner of Salvado’s “Africa Laughs,” including last year’s Season 7 showcase which marked his 15-year milestone in the industry.
The brand has been synonymous with celebration and unity, a legacy that lives through the power of comedy to bring people from all walks of life into a shared experience of joy. The support for 2 Kings One Mic continues this tradition of celebrating local craft and storytelling through the moments of connection that bind us together.
The 2 Kings One Mic show will feature music from Janzi Band and curtain raising performances ahead of the solo sets from both headliners.
Gates open at 5:00 PM at the Kampala Serena Hotel. Tickets are available at Fraine Supermarket or via MTN Momo for UGX 80,000 (Early Bird) and UGX 100,000 at the gate.
