Ugandan singer Tracy Melon has defended her recent weight loss, explaining that her changing appearance is linked to health challenges rather than a deliberate attempt to achieve a particular body size.

Speaking about her transformation, the singer said she lost weight after falling sick, which affected her appetite while she was also taking strong medication.
“I lost weight because I got sick and when you get sick you lose appetite and yet you’re on strong medication so you end up losing a few kilograms,” she explained.
Tracy also dismissed the idea that being overweight is something to celebrate, arguing that having a bigger body should not automatically be viewed as a blessing or a desirable physical attribute.
“Being fat isn’t a blessing,” she maintained, suggesting that people should not romanticise weight gain or assume that a bigger body necessarily means better health.
Asked whether she feels better about her new appearance, Tracy said she does not have a specific preference for how her body should look. However, she expressed confidence that her former body shape would eventually return.
Beyond the discussions surrounding her physical transformation, the singer also addressed claims that she has become less active in the music industry, particularly amid concerns about her lack of trending songs.
Tracy dismissed the suggestions that she has disappeared from the scene, insisting that she remains active and continues to receive performance bookings.
