D Star shot to fame in 2024 after “Hoozambe” became a regional anthem, spreading quickly across East Africa and earning him widespread recognition. The track’s popularity grew even bigger after Mudra jumped on the remix, helping it gain more streams and visibility on digital platforms.

However, despite the song’s success, D Star now claims he has not received any financial benefits from the remix.

According to fellow artist Khalifah Aganaga, the remix alone reportedly generated over UGX 140 million from YouTube, underlining just how massive the record became.

But D Star alleges that Mudra took control of the earnings and failed to share any proceeds with him, even though he is the original creator of the song.

The situation has left the young artist struggling financially. D Star revealed that he is currently facing hardships, including difficulties paying his rent, a stark contrast to the success associated with the hit record.
