In a candid video posted on TikTok, Bafana didn’t hold back, saying the federation has lost its way and no longer serves the purpose it was created for. He pointed out that a number of artists feel left out and unheard, something he believes needs urgent fixing.

Rather than just complain, Bafana is now urging like-minded musicians to take a bold step and form a fresh federation—one he says will truly stand for artists and bring back proper leadership within the industry.

“If you’re not happy with how things are being run, come we build something new together,” he said, calling on dissatisfied members to join him.

At the center of the disagreement is Bafana’s claim that he hasn’t been fairly refunded his SACCO savings. On the other hand, the federation has defended itself, insisting that the amount he requested was beyond what they could manage to pay out.
